I have many years management experience in business and schools, including human resource management. Having been on secondment to GMB as a convenor for over 5 years, from a Central Bedfordshire school I have just been voted Branch Secretary following Martin Foster's retirement and will be running the branch. I feel passionately that everyone in employment should be in GMB- as we have the knowledge of employment law & experience to ensure you have the best outcome possible regarding any employment issue. Hallo fellow GMB members! My name is Dee Walker and I’ve worked in Local Government for the past 27yrs. I joined the GMB, then unfortunately needed their support & guidance with an employment matter. After this and seeing the difference it made having their help, I wanted to support my local branch and became one of the branch auditors. I also hold a place on the GMB's London Regional Committee, which I attend every 6 mths. Being a member of the GMB is like having my car insurance, they will be there should I need them!
